Optometrist: Harvey Magaziner, OD
I was sitting in an examination chair waiting for Dr. Mark Whitten — the eye surgeon who famously corrected Tiger Woods’ eyes to perfect vision — to tell me that I was a candidate for the LASIK procedure. Instead, he scribbled the name — Harvey Magaziner, OD — on a prescription notepad and told me to see this top optometrist as soon as possible.
Shortly thereafter, Dr. Magazine — who looks a bit like television journalist Wolf Blitzer — confirmed Dr. Whitten’s diagnosis. According to a special eye topography map, the cornea in my right eye was severely distorted and too steep to safely perform the LASIK surgery that I had hoped would restore the 20/20 vision of my youth. The cause: overuse of improperly fit, extended wear contact lenses. After three months of bi-weekly exams and tests of different contact lens, I was able to correctly identify the letters at the bottom of an eye chart, and Dr. Magaziner proclaimed, “You’re back!”
By the way, Dr. Magaziner and his wife, Ilene, are avid golfers who own a second home on a golf course in Arizona.
Now seeing clearly for the first time in years, I owe sincerely thanks to Dr. Magaziner, Dr. Christoper Coleman, and the entire staff at Mt. Airy Eye Care, LLC as well as CIBA Vision - the makers of the FocusĀ® DailiesĀ® contact lenses that I comfortably wear everyday.
